What IPF GL points are.
IPF GL points are how the International Powerlifting Federation compares lifters across bodyweights. They replaced the IPF's 2019 formula on May 1, 2020, after an evaluation of scoring methods for fairness across weight classes. The GL comes from Goodlift, the system its developers built.
The formula: GL points = total × 100 ÷ (A − B·e^(−C·bw)), with bodyweight (bw) and total in kilos and separate constants for men and women, classic and equipped. Lifting in a US federation outside the IPF? You're more likely to be scored with DOTS.

Questions.
Classic or equipped?
Classic means raw: a belt, knee sleeves and wrist wraps, but no supportive suits or shirts. Equipped means a squat suit, bench shirt or deadlift suit. GL points use different constants for each, so pick the one you compete in.
Why is my GL number so much smaller than my DOTS?
GL points sit on a smaller scale. A 700 kg total at 93 kg bodyweight is about 92 GL points and about 445 DOTS. Compare GL with GL.
Does this work for bench-only meets?
No. These are the full-power, three-lift constants. The IPF publishes separate constants for bench press only.
Who uses IPF GL points?
The IPF has scored best lifter at its championships with GL points since May 1, 2020, and its member federations, including Powerlifting America in the US, use them too.
Do I enter pounds or kilos?
Either. Pick lb or kg at the top. The math runs in kilos either way, so your score is the same.
